A year ago, Gwenda and I formed a band called Just For Kicks. We debuted at a Melbourne-Malaysian local event called “Muzika Musim Salju” – which translates to “The Winter Musical”. Given only a 10 minute time-slot to fill in for a performance, we had to discover ourselves and establish the musical direction we wanted to pursue with just two songs.

The first song we chose was “Paperweight” by Joshua Radin and Schuyler Fisk. A beautiful arrangement from the original sound track of the movie “Dear John”.

Our second song of choice was “Terrified” which was written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, performed by Katherine McPhee & Zachary Levi, but made popular by American Idol contestant Didi Benami.  (*deep breath* boy that was a mouthful!)

Having fallen in love with the song, I knew we had to add this to the repetoire. And that’s when I found Jason Reeves, co-writer of  “Terrified”.

As I scoured through YouTube, I found out that he wrote and produced more than just a couple of songs. His simplistic musical style caught my attention and I instantly became a fan.

And now here I am, promoting Jason Reeves to those who has never heard of him or his music.
